Our Coir Mats are 100% Hand Crafted in India
out of 100% "All Natural Materials", grown and
harvested in the heart of India. Coir also known as Cocos,
is a versatile natural golden fiber extracted from the protective
husk of coconuts. This golden fiber is spun into a wide
range of textured yarns and woven into a wealth of colorful
floor coverings. Coir products offer a world of rich warm
colors and designs, which are true representations of the
skill and craftsmanship of experienced workers. Coir, the
golden fiber from India is well known for it's maximum moisture
absorbency, dust removal and shoe-drying features. Depending
on the construction, weave quality and thickness of fiber
and type of yarn, door mats of various types are available.
They are made on traditional hand looms and
are acknowledged to be the best in the world for strength,
durability and brushing quality. Coir doormat being 100%
natural, takes the first spot in Eco-friendliness. In addition
they are dust - absorbent and non-static plus they are naturally
conditioned material, which allows total comfort in either
temperate or torrid zones.
We have two basic styles to choose from:
1. Beach Creel
2. Imperial Fiber.
Each of these mats can be stenciled with various designs of
your choice, using organic dyes, or acrylic water based paints.
The Imperial Fiber mat displays elegant patterns that can
be woven directly into, or inlaid into the mat. Then the edges
of the design, are beveled to accent the inlaid design with
a 3D effect.
